Reef
SHACL shape registry and validation. Successor to the `mdu` CLI (which collides with mtools).
MD-UTIL leg
Machine-readable shape
The truth layer. Idempotent units are declared here; the rest of the fleet reads from them.
Why the name works
- 1.
Reefing a sail — disciplined, precise trimming. Taking in exactly the right amount, secured at fixed reef points. A constraint-application metaphor — which is what SHACL actually does.
- 2.
The reef knot — exact, symmetric, secure, and famously wrong if tied sloppily (granny knot). Binds correctly or fails visibly.
- 3.
The coral-hazard reading — the thing that stops you when you’re off course — is on-brand for a validator.
In the chain of command
Reef holds the truth. istd:idempotentUnit declarations here drive Marl’s execution and Bosun’s emission.
